Drop

  1. Throw lid first.
  2. Throw a sturdy knob so you can lift into opening of container to measure without using calipers

    Tip: Don’t let the two wet pieces touch or they may stick together.

  3. When leather hard make a pin tool hole in knob to allow air to
    escape.
 

Double flange

  1. Throw lid first.
  2. Throw a sturdy knob so you can lift into opening of container to measure without using calipers.

    Tip: Don’t let the two wet pieces touch or they may stick together.

  3. Measure container in two places.

    Tip: Be very careful in your measurements.

  4. When leather hard make a pin tool hole in knob to allow air to escape.

 

 

Flat

 
  1. Throw the base of this covered container first.
  2. Keep the lip thick so you can make the flange.
  3. Measure inside rim with calipers
  4. Next, make flat lid, measuring the outside edge with calipers so they will fit.

    Tip: Cut a channel into knob to let air escape.

 

Dome

  1. Throw lid first.
  2. Throw a sturdy knob so you can lift into opening of container to measure without using calipers.

    Tip: Don’t let the two wet pieces touch or they may stick together.

  3. Measure container in two places.

    Tip: Be very careful in your measurements.

  4. When leather hard make a pin tool hole in knob to allow air to escape. Double flange
       
 

Ginger Jar

  1. Throw lid first.
  2. Start lid like a bow.
  3. Push top edge toward center to create a flange.
  4. Measure with calipers right away.
  5. Use that measurement to measure inside lip of the covered container.

    Tip: Throw lid upside-down. Trim right side up when leather hard.
